Looking for a special and unique way to treat mom this Mother’s day? The huntresses and our Chief Idea Hunter have put together the best trends for 2018 to show mom how special she is!
These ideas divert from the standard bouquet of flowers and instead are intended to last!
1. A Bouquet that will last!
Flowers are beautiful, but after a short while that bouquet is ready for the garbage. We found the most amazing alternative!
A book that transforms into a bouquet– one that mom can keep forever!
2. Breakfast in Bed
Here’s an idea you can NEVER go wrong with… just make sure to set your alarm so you’re up before mom!
Make her favourite breakfast and treat her to the perfect start to her day, this idea is sure to leave her with a smile!
3. Gather all of your mom friends
Sometimes the perfect Mother’s Day is the one where you don’t have to be the mother! Grab a group of your favourite moms and spend the day doing whatever you want!
Set up a craft station and build your own bouquets- we found some awesome ideas from MomTrends blog! Check them out here!
Or maybe throw a themed lunch party, like a Mexican Fiesta… we love tacos and margarita’s, so you can’t go wrong with this choice!
4. Unique Gifts
Show mom how much you love her by getting her a gift that’s as unique as she is!
These felt soaps from Fiat Luxe Designs are sure to be something untraditional that mom has never seen before!
And of course, something made by hand is always a good choice for Mother’s Day!
5. Mother’s Day Brunch
There are a lot of options for Mother’s Day Brunch in Toronto. Our top pick is The Adelaide Hotel. View the menu and make a reservation!
6. Take mom to see the gorgeous Toronto Blooms
Like they always say, April Showers brings May Flowers. It’s May and the flowers are here, just in time for Mother’s Day (coincidence? I think not).
Take mom to see the insanely lovely Cherry Blossom’s in High Park. These Sakura trees were gifted to Canada from Japan and planted mostly in High Park. Every year in early May they blossom and create quite the sceptical. Take mom for a walk here to enjoy the beauty of blooms, you can spend the day here walking the whole park and set up a picnic at one of the many picnic tables, or arrive early to claim one of the available BBQ’s!
If Mother’s Day happens to be rainy, or you want to see a variety of plants, including a cactus room and an orchid room, head nowhere other than Allen Gardens. This free, massive green house offers beautiful views, with a bit less of a crowd.
7. Fun, Fabulous Food Finds
Have fun and get creative with your treats! From homemade popsicles that show your love, to limited edition Tim Horton’s Timbit Bouquets!
Spend the day with mom at the Blossom & Blossom market! This market has the best of floral and design!
Discover Mother’s Day art installations, endless beautiful, handcrafted gifts and local vendors and lots of yummy food! With two locations in Toronto, Union Station and Scarborough Town Centre, this is an easy pick for mom’s special day!
Happy Mother’s Day!
